Equipment

Sunscreen--please apply before arriving, or arrive EARLY to apply!

Water bottle:  full of water or a non-caffeinated liquid your swimmer likes. Encourage them to drink throughout the season!

Goggles: please try on and adjust goggles PRIOR to practice/meets.  Your swimmer cannot focus on practice when their goggles are constantly slipping/leaking. Child-sized goggles will generally fit better and cause less issues (I recommend Speedo Vanquisher Jr. goggles to fit kids' faces ages 13 and under).

Cap (optional): some kids do not like the restrictive feel of a swim cap at first. It is not required to wear them, but generally helpful if the swimmer has hair which will be in their eyes during swimming. It can also help keep goggles on if they are worn under the cap.

Extra towel: It can be chilly on practice mornings and at meets-- an extra warm towel is an easy comfort. Divers: extra towels are a must, as they are generally not moving as much as the swimmers and can get cool.  Shammy towels are also helpful.

Mesh Bag or Backpack:  you will waste far less time looking for all of the above equipment if your swimmer keeps everything in a dedicated swim bag. Also label everything!

Sharpie marker: for writing down swim events on your athlete's arm for their meets and labeling all their stuff.

You can get swim gear as well as spirit wear from our Froggies Store on Swim Outlet. A small percentage of sales goes to support our team. See the blue box ad for our team store on this page.

This blog on summer league swim gear can be a handy reference for the brand new swim parent.
